Oh hello there!

Hey what's up everyone, i don't have a ton of time (basically becoming the usual) but anyway this week was great, I had a lot of great experiences.

On Wednesday our mission president and his wife tested positive for covid and they are super sick right now, I really hope that they will be okay. The new mission president is supposed to come in this week I think, and that's gonna be a big change.

We were supposed to have a baptism this week but they canceled because they were sick. I feel like something always bad happens on those days to be honest. We rescheduled for wednesday this week, which my companion is super excited for.

We had tons of people cancel this week because of rain, the people hate rain here, it's really interesting. When it rains it either comes down really hard for like an hour, or it's a steady sprinkle the whole day. And humidity kinda sucks, when it's hot you go inside and you're still hot, and when it's cold it's about the same. But on the bright side I can jump higher and run faster than any of these paraguayos.

I ate a lot of tripe (cow intestine) this week and it's just really chewy. I thought it would taste bad but it tastes pretty good. They also give you some mystery meat sometimes and say  "come elders come" which means eat more elders and I tell them I'm okay and they just keep piling food on your plate and you don't want to tell them no. They are the nicest people, they love the elders.

I learned most of the required guarani i need to talk to people, they love it when we do that.

Here's some pictures, can't really remember when I took them

love you all!!

Joseph's last supper!

Joseph decided that he wanted to go to Wasabi for his last supper and then real life happened and we had to shift plans and have grub hub deliver five guys to the house.  It turned out really fun though because after we ate, we played maki in the backyard and then everyone piled on the trampoline to bounce off some of those calories.  Just so you know, maki means lemur in Malagasy.  We usually play horse or pig, but instead we used the word maki to play "horse", because it's just so much cooler and fun that way!   Joseph is the fun in our house and we are really going to miss that dynamic when he is gone!  We also went mini golfing a few days later and it was fun to just spend time together.  We didn't keep score and we just decided to goof off and have fun.  Lucy played several holes in front of us the entire time and Joseph helped her get a hole in one on the last hole.  He's always so giving and kind to everyone!

Elder Johnson first day of home MTC April 14th

Elder Johnson was ready to go bright and early today.  I thought he looked spot on!

P-day

I saw a baby bunny out on my compost pile and immediately Lucy and Joseph were out trying to catch him.  Elder Johnson raked back some of my old tomato plants and found an entire nest of baby bunnies underneath.  Elder Johnson managed to catch this little guy and Lucy was delighted.  Last year we had some tragic accidents happen, when a few baby bunnies fell in our window well and died.  This year, we fixed the window wells and hopefully the little bunnies will stay out of them.  Elder Johnson loves creatures and values each one as unique and special. I remember when he was little, he would carry bugs with him all day.  One day he caught this enormous grub and he put it in a cup and carried it around while we ran errands together.  I still remember what he named it, Sherman.  No other grub in the history of the world has ever been loved more than Sherman.  Over the years, Elder Johnson has caught so many creatures, bugs, birds, bunnies, snake...
