Ya'll, this was the most amazing day we have ever seen in Vedauwoo and except for two other people, we had the entire place to ourselves! The day didn't seem all that promising when we arrived when we found snow on the ground, but as we hiked for a while, the clouds dispersed, the sun came out and the snow began to melt and oh my was it absolutely stunning! And to make it even better, I got to take senior pictures of this handsome missionary! I am not a photographer, I actually pretty much despise posed pictures, HOWEVER, I just let Elder Johnson do whatever he wanted and I just snapped away. He walked through streams, climbed rocks and the picture of him taking in the view on top, well it was magic! I don't know how the pictures turned out, but those mental photographs stored away are pretty spectacular, because we all know a camera doesn't do justice (especially mine:) . We had a lot of great laughs, like when I slipped and fell on a wet boulder and landed in a perfect push-up position! Elder Johnson spent a lot of time coaxing me, "Mom, it's not that slippery, we can make it!" Then I would reply, "Yeah, I'm taking another way!" I just followed him and we made it to the top just fine.
Joseph decided that he wanted to go to Wasabi for his last supper and then real life happened and we had to shift plans and have grub hub deliver five guys to the house. It turned out really fun though because after we ate, we played maki in the backyard and then everyone piled on the trampoline to bounce off some of those calories. Just so you know, maki means lemur in Malagasy. We usually play horse or pig, but instead we used the word maki to play "horse", because it's just so much cooler and fun that way! Joseph is the fun in our house and we are really going to miss that dynamic when he is gone! We also went mini golfing a few days later and it was fun to just spend time together. We didn't keep score and we just decided to goof off and have fun. Lucy played several holes in front of us the entire time and Joseph helped her get a hole in one on the last hole. He's always so giving and kind to everyone!
